Royal wedding season is set to continue later this month as Lady
Marina Windsor prepares to tie the knot with her fiancé Nico
Macauley, just a couple of weeks after Peter Phillips married
Harriet Sperling.
The couple are due to marry on June 20, making it the second
royal wedding of 2026 and giving royal watchers another occasion to
look forward to following the celebrations attended by senior
members of the Royal Family earlier this month.
Lady Marina announced her engagement last June by sharing a
photograph with Macauley on Instagram alongside the simple caption:
“Very happy.”
The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulatory
messages from friends, family and royal enthusiasts alike.
Her brother, Lord Downpatrick, jokingly commented: “So the
hazing begins,” while her sister, Lady Amelia Windsor, wrote:
“Yippeeee!”
The engagement was revealed on June 8, a date carrying special
significance for the family as it marked the wedding anniversary of
Marina’s grandparents, the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
Lady Marina’s royal connections stem from her grandfather, the
Duke of Kent, who is a first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
She is the daughter of George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews, and
Sylvana Windsor, Countess of St Andrews.
Although she was once in the line of succession to the British
throne, Lady Marina forfeited her place in 2008 after being
received into the Roman Catholic Church. Her elder brother, Lord
Downpatrick, also lost his place in the line of succession
following his conversion.
Their younger sister, Lady Amelia Windsor, remains in the line
of succession.
The wedding comes just two weeks after Peter Phillips, the son
of Princess Anne, married NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in a private
ceremony at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire.
The event attracted a host of royal guests, including members of
the King and Princess Anne’s families, and prompted widespread
public interest.
While details surrounding Lady Marina’s wedding remain largely
private, royal enthusiasts will be watching closely to see which
members of the extended Royal Family attend the celebrations.
The ceremony is expected to provide another rare gathering of
royals during what has become an unusually busy summer for the
family.
For Lady Marina and Nico Macauley, however, the focus will
remain firmly on their wedding day as they prepare to begin married
life together surrounded by family and friends.
