Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” is the most nominated movie of the year with nine nods, followed by “Sentimental Value” with eight and “Sinners” with seven. “The White Lotus” topped the television category with six nominations, while “Adolescence” scored five and “Only Murders in the Building” and “Severance” each received four.

The winners will be revealed during the live awards ceremony, which is set to air on CBS on Jan. 11, 2026. It’s an honor just to be nominated, but some stars, TV shows, and movies, were noticeably left out this year.

Keep scrolling to see the biggest snubs of the 2026 Golden Globes nominations:

‘Andor’

The “Star Wars” series received 14 Emmy nominations this year, so the Globes’ indifference to it is puzzling. “Andor” received just one Golden Globe nomination for Diego Luna’s acting, and it is conspicuously missing from the Best Television Series – Drama category.

The 2025 nominees for Best Television Series – Drama are “The Diplomat,” “The Pitt,” “Pluribus,” “Severance,” “Slow Horses” and “The White Lotus.”

Billy Bob Thornton, ‘Landman’

The season 2 premiere of “Landman” was the most-watched original series premiere in Paramount+ history, but the show has yet to make much of a splash on the awards circuit. Thornton earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role as Tommy Norris last year, but he was left out of the Best Actor category this time around.

While Thornton was snubbed, the 2025 nominees for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama are Sterling K. Brown (“Paradise”), Diego Luna (“Andor”), Gary Oldman (“Slow Horses”), Mark Ruffalo (“Task”), Adam Scott (“Severance”) and Noah Wyle (“The Pitt”).

Gwyneth Paltrow, ‘Marty Supreme’

The sports comedy drama recieved three nominations, including an acting nod for Timothée Chalamet (Marty Mauser). Despite receiving praise for her portrayal of retired actress Kay Stone, Paltrow was left out of the Best Actress category.

The 2025 nominees for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama are: Jessie Buckley (“Hamnet”), Jennifer Lawrence (“Die My Love”), Renate Reinsve (“Sentimental Value”), Julia Roberts (“After the Hunt”), Tessa Thompson (“Hedda”) and Eva Victor (“Sorry, Baby”).

Jon M. Chu, ‘Wicked: For Good’

“Wicked: For Good” earned five nominations, including Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and acting nods for Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba Thropp) and Ariana Grande (Glinda), but director Jon M. Chu was snubbed. He was previously left out of the Best Director category for the first “Wicked” film, which hit theaters in 2024.

“Wicked: For Good” was also left out of the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category. The 2025 nominees are “Blue Moon,” “Bugonia,” “Marty Supreme,” “No Other Choice,” “Nouvelle Vague” and “One Battle After Another.”

The 2025 Golden Globe nominees for Best Director are Paul Thomas Anderson (“One Battle After Another”), Ryan Coogler (“Sinners”), Guillermo del Toro (“Frankenstein”), Jafar Panahi (“It Was Just an Accident”), Joachim Trier (“Sentimental Value”), and Chloé Zhao (“Hamnet”).

Jennifer Lopez, ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’

The Hollywood Reporter critic David Rooney called Lopez’s portrayal of Ingrid Luna “one of the best roles of her career,” but it wasn’t enough to earn her a Golden Globe nomination.

The 2025 Golden Globe nominees for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy are Rose Byrne (“If I Had Legs I’d Kick You”), Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked: For Good”), Kate Hudson (“Song Sung Blue”), Chase Infiniti (“One Battle After Another”), Amanda Seyfried (“The Testament of Ann Lee”) and Emma Stone (“Bugonia”).

Katherine LaNasa, ‘The Pitt’

LaNasa won an Emmy this year for her portrayal of Nurse Dana Evans on “The Pitt,” but the Golden Globes left her out of the Best Supporting Actress category.

The 2025 nominees for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television are Carrie Coon (“The White Lotus”), Erin Doherty (“Adolescence”), Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”), Catherine O’Hara (“The Studio”), Parker Posey (“The White Lotus”) and Aimee Lou Wood (“The White Lotus”).

Fahy earned an Emmy nomination for her role in the Netflix limited series “Sirens,” but the Globes left her out of the category.

The 2025 nominees for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television are Claire Danes (“The Beast in Me”), Rashida Jones (“Black Mirror”), Amanda Seyfried (“Long Bright River”), Sarah Snook (“All Her Fault”), Michelle Williams (“Dying for Sex”) and Robin Wright (“The Girlfriend”).

Sydney Sweeney, ‘Christy’

Sweeney starred as professional boxer Christy Salters in the sports biopic “Christy.” Despite extensively training and gaining over 30 pounds to play the role, Sweeney did not receive a Golden Globes nomination. In fact, “Christy” didn’t receive any recognition from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

‘Task’

Mark Ruffalo, Task

Despite having a 96 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, the HBO crime drama received only one Golden Globe nomination: an acting nod for Ruffalo. Much like “Andor,” the critically acclaimed “Task” deserved to be included in the Best Drama Series category.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will air on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. ET.
