Savannah Guthrie has finally returned to the Today show—and she has an incredible group of supporters.
Back in February, Savannah took a weeks-long pause from TV after the late January disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie. While viewers initially weren’t sure whether Savannah would return to the NBC daytime series, they were emotional when the news anchor announced she would come back to TV on April 6.
So, when the day officially arrived, folks tuned in to see Savannah back in Studio 1A. She wore a bright yellow lace dress and appeared calm before opening the first segment of Today alongside Craig Melvin.
“Welcome to Today on this Monday morning,” Savannah opened the taping in a clip posted on Instagram. “We are so glad you started your week with us, and it is good to be home.”
“Yes, it is good to have you back at home,” Craig responded in the snippet.
“Well, here we go,” Savannah added. “Ready or not, let’s do the news.”
A few of Savannah’s NBC family reached out in support.
“Gold standard 💛💛,” Hoda Kotb wrote in the comments. “💛💛💛,” Thursday Night Football on Prime Video and Today contributing anchor Kaylee Hartung penned. “💛,” Shop TODAY and frequent TV contributor Adrianna Brach added.
Fans were also right by Savannah’s side as she came back to TV.
“She looks bright and beautiful welcome back Savannah 💛,” one person remarked. “Let’s go Savannah! You are resilient and the world sees your story ❤️🌎,” another cheered her on. “This is STRENGTH. Hats off to you @savannahguthrie 🤍,” a different follower agreed.
Savannah had more to say about her return when standing with Al Roker, Carson Daly, and Jenna Bush Hager in Rockefeller Plaza.
“You guys have been so beautiful,” she emotionally cried in an Instagram clip. “I’ve received so many letters, so much kindness to me and my whole family. We feel it. We feel your prayers. So, thank you so much.”
Welcome back, Savannah—we’ve missed you.
