Selena Gomez Goes Red Hot at Only Murders in the Building Press Tour  

Selena Gomez embraced the forthcoming fall season with a vibrant red look while out in New York City on Monday. The “Only Murders in the Building” actress wore a short-sleeve cherry knit minidress while promoting the fifth season of the Hulu show. The look featured staple autumnal elements, including its knit fabric, which gave the minidress a cozy look and feel.

While the dress featured a mini hemline above the Rare Beauty founder’s knees, the bodice of the minidress was wholly structured, with rounded shoulders and short sleeves just above Gomez’s elbows. The neckline of the dress featured a mockneck line.

The silhouette of Gomez’s dress was formfitting without being constricting, emphasizing slight movement and fabric mobility. The actress paired the dress with pointed-toe red pumps and accessorized with a few delicate pieces of jewelry. The final touch was the black sunglasses Gomez wore for the sunny day in New York City.

As for her glam, Gomez’s hair was styled in a flowing, straight look by Renato Campora. Her makeup was done by artist Hung Vanngo, who unveiled his namesake beauty brand with Sephora last month. Gomez’s look was curated by stylist Erin Walsh, who has also collaborated with Anne Hathaway, among others.

Gomez’s New York City outfit is a reminder of the ubiquity of a quality knit for trans-seasonal styling. While the red pop of color not only evoked autumn, the knit minidress fell into the sweet spot between summertime and fall, merging trendy knitwear with a silhouette that’s still comfortable for warm temperatures.

Gomez stars alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short in the forthcoming season of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.” The first three episodes of the comedy series’ fifth season debut on Tuesday.
