Shed Seven have announced their self-titled new studio album – listen to lead single ‘Stand Together’ below.

The self-managed York indie band are due to release the record on January 8, 2027 via Cooking Vinyl. Pre-order/pre-save here.

Writing on social media today (Thurday July 2), Shed Seven said they were “incredibly proud” to share the details of the upcoming LP.

“It’s without doubt our most ambitious record to date and the start of a brand-new chapter for the band… so if there was ever a time to make a self-titled album, this was it!” they continued.

“Off the back of an amazing few years, we went into making this album with renewed confidence and a real belief in what we wanted to achieve. We challenged ourselves creatively and musically more than ever before, while making sure it still sounded unmistakably like Shed Seven.”

They went on to call the album “our best record yet, and we really hope these songs find a place in your hearts”.

Speaking about their towering, anthemic new song, ‘Stand Together’, Shed Seven described the cut as “a rallying cry for unity and the perfect way to begin this next chapter”.

In a separate statement, frontman Rick Witter similarly labelled the track “a statement of intent”, adding: It’s a call to arms and a rallying cry for some kind of unity in the world we live in today.

“We have taken great care in making this album what we believe to be our best yet, and we hope these songs are taken to people’s hearts.”

After a mammoth guitar solo intro, Witter sings: “Sing, and shout it from the rooftops/ This love will never fade/ Lift me high until the cloud stops/ Take my hand I’ll lead the way/ Stand together, together as one…”

Shed Seven promised fans that they’ve “got so much in store” for this new era, including a 2026 headline tour throughout the autumn and winter.

Tonight, they’ll play a special live-streamed acoustic gig at London’s legendary 100 Club. Later this month, the band will support Richard Ashcroft at his huge outdoor concert at Englefield Estate.

‘Shed Seven’ will follow on from Witter and co’s 2024 LPs ‘A Matter Of Time’ and ‘Liquid Gold’, both of which went to Number One in the UK. The feat made chart history, placing the group alongside the likes of The Beatles, Elton John, David Bowie and Taylor Swift in achieving two UK top-spot albums within a single calendar year.

‘A Matter Of Time’ had previously earned Shed Seven their first-ever UK Number One record.

Shed Seven’s 2026 UK and Ireland headline dates are:

During an interview with NME in 2023, Witter spoke about Shed Seven finally shedding their ’90s “nostalgia tag”, telling us: “We’ve lost that nostalgia of just going out and playing our old hits like a lot of bands tend to do

“We’ve found ourselves feeling a little more current again because we’re doing brand new stuff. The fact the new stuff definitely stands up with our past material in the sense that it sounds very fresh and current is a great thing. So we’ve found ourselves in a really healthy position.”

He added: “Having said that I’ve never got bored of singing our old stuff because of the fact that everyone there in that room watching us is just having the best time. It’s difficult to get bored when you’re looking at 2,000 people looking like they’re having a really, really good night out.”
