Prince Harry is back in the UK, arriving at the High Court today for his latest legal battle – but it seems a reunion with the King is not on the cards while he is back in Britain
Prince Harry is back in the UK this week – and today turned up at the High Court for the start of his latest legal battle. The Duke of Sussex, dressed in a dark suit and tie, travelled from California to London to sit in the courtroom to listen to the proceedings on the first day of the long-awaited trial, which is expected to last nine weeks.
But despite being in London, Harry will not see the King when he is in the UK. His father, Charles, will at the start of the week be 500 miles away in Scotland performing royal duties, but will return to London to resume his cancer treatment on Tuesday. The King will carry out engagements in the capital next week, however, royal sources have confirmed that neither side requested a meeting with the other and no arrangements have been made to see one another.

Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales will also be in Scotland next week, traveling to Stirling and Falkirk on Tuesday. There they will be shining a spotlight on unique Scottish heritage traditions and how they are continuing to connect communities and inspire new generations.
The King last saw Harry in person in May last year, following the Duke of Sussex’s losing his appeal for taxpayer funded security when he returns to the UK. He met his father at Clarence House in London, their first face to face meeting since February 2024. If you can’t see the poll below, click here.
The pair had afternoon tea together, with Harry later describing his father as ‘great’. Harry has claimed he no longer feels it is safe to bring his wife and children to the UK due to serious concerns over their safety.
In May, Harry gave an interview to the BBC in which he claimed the King would not speak to him because of his legal fight with the Home Office over security, and he did not know “how much longer my father has” as he described his hopes for a “reconciliation”.
The sit-down chat came after the duke lost a Court of Appeal challenge over his security arrangements while in the UK. But in a major U-turn, the Home Office is said to have now ordered a full threat assessment for the first time since 2020, amid reports Harry’s taxpayer-funded armed security will be reinstated for visits to the UK.
During his previous High Court case, Harry argued that his security situation in the UK made it “impossible” for him to safely bring his wife Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back to his home country.
