Sony Interactive Entertainment is said to have the highest average yearly income among employees of seven Japanese gaming companies.
The information comes from OpenMoney, a salary information database (via AUTOMATON), which recently published a list of Japanese video game companies featuring data on employees’ average income, monthly overtime hours, and work satisfaction. The data covers the period from 2024.
In a chart ranking Japanese game companies by highest average yearly income, Sony Interactive Entertainment takes the top spot, with an average yearly income of 9.94 million JPY (about $63k USD), 17.6 hours of average monthly overtime, which is the lowest on the list, and a work satisfaction score of 3.85 out of 5.
The runner-up is Capcom, with an average yearly income of 8.40 million JPY (about $53k USD), 20 hours of average monthly overtime, and a satisfaction score of 3.83. The next in the chart are SEGA, Bandai Namco Entertainment, which has the highest satisfaction score of 3.89, Nintendo, Konami Digital Entertainment, and Square Enix.
AUTOMATON notes that the average income of Japanese company employees has increased over the years.
