Sinfonia Gulf Coast continues its 20th anniversary season with “Simply the Best: The Music of Tina Turner,” a powerhouse tribute concert on Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center.
Backed by a full orchestra, a trio of acclaimed vocalists will bring Tina Turner’s legendary catalog to life with raw power, soul and undeniable stage presence.
Meet the trio
Broadway and touring veteran Shaleah Adkisson has captivated audiences nationwide in productions including “Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical” and “Rent.”
Two-time Grammy-winning singer and actress Tamika Lawrence with Broadway credits spanning “Come from Away,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Caroline, or Change,” “Beautiful” and “The Book of Mormon,” along with appearances in film and television including “The Greatest Showman” and “The Wiz Live!.”
Rounding out the cast is Tyler Huckstep, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, whose career includes international tours, regional theater roles and work as a featured production vocalist.
Together, the trio will deliver iconic Tina Turner hits including “Proud Mary,” “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “Private Dancer” and “Simply the Best.”

“This concert captures everything audiences love about Sinfonia Gulf Coast — bold programming, extraordinary artists and music that moves you,” Demetrius Fuller, music and artistic director of Sinfonia Gulf Coast, said in a news release.
“Tina Turner’s music was made for this kind of scale and energy, and hearing it performed live with orchestra is nothing short of exhilarating,” Fuller said.
