LOVELAND

Ski and Sports Swap

The annual Ski and Sports Swap will be held at 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Chilson Recreation Center, 700 E. Fourth St.

Patrons can buy a VIP pass for $7 online to enter at 4:30-5:30 p.m. Nov. 7.

The event lets individuals and businesses buy and sell new or gently used ski and sports equipment, golf clubs, winter clothing, camping and outdoor equipment, exercise equipment and more.

Closeout pricing hours are noon-1 p.m. Nov. 9.

All major credit cards are accepted.

Consignor drop-off times at 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7. No oversized items (bikes, kayaks, rooftop boxes) will be taken on Thursday.

Pulliam Opening

The Pulliam Community Building Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting will be held at 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the building at 545 N. Cleveland Ave.

The free, family-friendly event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m., self-guided tours of the newly renovated space, city staff on site to answer questions and share the building’s story, and light refreshments.

Street parking is available in downtown Loveland, though it can fill up quickly. The parking lot to the west of the building has 20 spots open to the public. Additional parking is available at the Foundry public parking garage between Lincoln and Cleveland Avenues on Second Street; at Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue, Fifth Street and Railroad Avenue, Fourth Street and Railroad Avenue, and Fifth Street and Jefferson Avenue. ‘One Night In Memphis’

“One Night in Memphis” will recreate It’s a night of pure rockabilly, country, gospel and rock ’n’ roll at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Rialto Theater Center, 228 E. Fourth St.

The show depicts the magical night of Dec. 4, 1956, when Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash found themselves jamming at Sam Phillip’s Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Little did they know that their jam session was being recorded and preserved for all time.

‘Urinetown the Musical’

Northern Colorado Performing Arts will present “Urinetown the Musical,” opening at 7  p.m Friday, Nov 7.

The show also will be staged at 7 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 8 and 15, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, and 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the theater at 575 N. Denver Ave.

“Urinetown” is a musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theater itself.

Tickets are $18 for adults presale or $20 at the door, and $18 for students, veterans and seniors.

Veterans Monuments

In honor of Veterans Day, Historic Larimer County will present an armchair tour of the veterans monuments and war memorials around Larimer County.

The talk presented by HLC president Ron Sladek, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Associated Veterans of Loveland, 305 N. Cleveland Ave.

He will discuss the numerous monuments and memorials that are found throughout the area.  While a few of these are modern and well-known, many others are historic and overlooked or even forgotten by the public but are still present throughout the county.

Step Up for Vets

Step Up For Vets, a fundraiser for veterans in the community, will be held at 9-11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at Loveland Sports Park, 950 N. Boyd Lake Ave.

Health4Heroes, a nonprofit that works with veterans and first responders, will offer the workout event.

Authentic Connections

Authentic Connections will be offered at 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov 7, at the Forge Event Center, 815 14th St. SW, Building B120.

Brenna Galves and Mary Rust will explore how to stay rooted, heart-centered, and true to ourselves during the holidays.

FORT COLLINS

Holiday Lighting​ Kickoff

The Fort Collins Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony will take place at 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Old Town Square.

Kick off the holiday season as trees throughout Old Town are illuminated with thousands of LED bulbs through February. Lights turn on at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Square Dance

Dance the night away at a Beatlemania: Yellow Submarine square dance bash with the Square Dusters on Friday, Nov. 7, at Club Tico, 1599 City Park Drive.

Roger Schappell will be calling and cuer is Becky Evans. Rounds will start at 7 p.m. and squares are at 7:30-9:30 p.m..

Square dancing is great for fun, fitness and friendship. Non-dancing visitors are welcome at no charge. Donation for visiting dancers is $10, and member dancers pay $9.

Fort Collins Symphony

The Fort Collins Symphony will present “Echoes of Memory and Identity” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia.

Journey through memory and place with Mendelssohn’s sunny Italian Symphony, Barber’s nostalgic “Knoxville Summer of 1915” featuring soprano Stefanie Anduri, and Ginastera’s “Variaciones Concertante,” celebrating the diverse voices of the orchestra.

A Maestro’s Musings preconcert talk starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $29-$83 for adults, $10 for students and a livestream is $29.

A Composers Talk with Dawn Grapes will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov 5, at the Old Town Library, 201 Peterson St., Admission is free.

The symphony’s rehearsal at 7-8:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, also will be free and open to the public, at the Lincoln Center.

CSU Symposium

Colorado State University will host The Symposium 2025, an annual campus event dedicated to advancing access, success, and community well-being for CSU students, employees, and the broader community, on Monday-Thursday, Nov. 3-6.

This year’s Symposium will feature a keynote address by Carol Spahn, former director of the Peace Corps and CSU’s 2025 presidential executive in residence, who will give the opening keynote address,  “Human Connection and Purposeful Leadership for Positive Change,” at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3 at Lory Student Center Ballroom, 1101 Center Ave. Mall, and livestreamed.

Michael Benitez, national educator, scholar, and change strategist, will give a virtual talk at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, on “Leadership, Culture, and Change in Higher Education.”

CSU President Amy Parsons and former Colorado Gov. Bill Owens will speak at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Lory Student Center Theatre on “Democracy, Civil Discourse, and Working Across Differences.”  Tickets required for in-person attendance; a livestream will be available.

Circus Mystery

Circus Masquerade Mystery- Masquerade of Shadows & Light: The Forgotten One will be held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Fort Collins Circus Center, 2536 Midpoint Drive.

The immersive journey features circus artists, aerialists, dancers and flow performers who bring a world of light, shadow, and forgotten memories to life.

The evening show begins with a grand masquerade ball featuring themed drinks, small bites, a short dance lesson for guests, and roaming masked performers. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in masquerade attire.

An Event of Note Gala

Off the Hook Arts will present An Event of Note Gala at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at Ed Caroll Motors Showroom, 3003 S. College Ave.

The event will support Off the Hook Arts’ mission to provide free and low-cost music education for low-income students.

It includes a silent auction, wine and appetizers, and live music by Rhonda Merrick, folk; the Roots Le Roux, soul; and jazz bassist/composer Jo Asker.

Garden Myths Talk

Gardens on Spring Creek will offer a program on “Fresh New Garden Myths —The Science Behind Why” at 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday,Nov. 8,  at 2145 Centre Ave.

Alison O’Connor will debunk some of the fun and interesting myths that surround gardening, all supported by science.

WINDSOR

‘Salute to Service’

The Greeley Philharmonic Brass Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Frank Cook, will offer a “Salute to Service” concert in celebration and gratitude for those who have answered the call to serve in our United States Armed Forces.

The show will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at First United Methodist Church, 503 Walnut St., and at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Generations Church, 3600 W. 22nd St., Greeley.

The concert will feature spirit-lifting renditions of American tunes.

​‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’

The Aims Community Theater (ACT) will presentTennessee Williams’ classic 1955 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,”  opening at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7,at the Ed Beaty Hall Theater on the Aims Community College Greeley Campus, 5203 W. 20th St.

Other showtimes are 1 and 7 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 8 and 15, 1 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 9 and 16, and 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14.

While the play’s themes of greed, shallowness, dishonesty, deterioration, sexual desire, repression and death are universal, it’s important to remember that the play is a product of its time. ACT acknowledges that some language in this performance reflects ethnic, racial and other social prejudices that were once common in American society. The team has chosen to present the production as written, as altering it would risk denying the reality of these past prejudices.
