Slipknot are working on new music.
The band’s relatively new drummer Eloy Casagrande has revealed the Duality group are “exchanging” ideas and have “a lot of material” to work with.
He told Drummer’s Review: “What I can tell you right now is that we are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure. Yes, we are.”
He continued: “Since I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, so we are always doing something. We had also some jam sessions. So, we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it’s happening. It already happened. It’s gonna happen in the future. So new material is coming, for sure.”
Last year, there was the promise of a new song called Long May You Die, but there’s no sign of it yet.
Casagrande joined Slipknot in April 2024, replacing Jay Weinberg.
Meanwhile, in August, Slipknot were reported to be closing in on a deal to sell their entire back catalogue for $120 million.
According to a scoop from Billboard Pro, the masked metal titans were on the verge of sealing a high-stakes deal with HarbourView Equity Partners.
Per the report, Corey Taylor’s band will be required to hand over ownership rights to both their publishing and master recording royalties for all of their releases since their self-titled 1999 debut. However, any new music wouldn’t be part of the sale.
Slipknot’s hits include Wait and Bleed, Duality, and Psychosocial.
It comes after the group left their long-time label, Roadrunner Records, in 2022.
Slipknot’s last studio album was 2022’s The End, So Far.
