SALT LAKE CITY – Roughly six weeks after announcing their new sign policy at Delta Center, Smith Entertainment Group provided some further clarity on their intentions.
Per SEG, there will be no plans to reevaluate the Delta Center sign policy.
– The policy is to create an ideal & consistent fan experience for the most people.
– The absence of signs does not take away from fan experiences.

Smith Entertainment Group aims to create an ideal and consistent fan experience at Delta Center
Following the lower bowl renovations at Delta Center this summer, Smith Entertainment Group decided to take a step back and evaluate how they could create the most consistent fan experience across all of their brands.
According to SEG, this led to the conclusion that removing signs would lead to the best fan experience for the most people.
In turn, the organization offers alternative ways for fans to interact in the arena with opportunities such as “first game” buttons, celebrating birthdays on the video board and a chance to still interact at the glass during warm-ups in order to receive pucks or sticks from Mammoth players.
Notably, there will also be certain exceptions to the sign rule such as ‘Hockey Fights Cancer Night’ where signs will be allowed throughout the arena in order to collectively show support towards family and friends battling the disease.
Smith Entertainment Group wants to create the most ideal experience for the most fans
Despite some push back on the sign policy, SEG noted that this decision aligns with their efforts to listen to the fans in order to create the most ideal experience for everyone in the arena.
After conducting research in the United States and internationally across numerous arenas, venues and other teams (NBA and NHL), SEG concluded that removing signs was in the best interest of the arena as a whole.
Currently, there are no plans to re-evaluate this policy.
What’s next for the Utah Mammoth?
The Utah Mammoth will face the Anaheim Ducks on the road on Monday night at 8 p.m. MT.
The game will be available on Mammoth+.
