Sofía Vergara’s night took a detour.
The “Modern Family” alum shared she had to miss the 77th annual Emmy Awards Sept. 14 after taking a trip to the emergency room.
“Didnt make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER,” the “Griselda” actress wrote in a Sept. 14. Instagram carousel featuring a picture of her looking into the camera and showing off her red, swollen eye. “Sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergie [sic] right before getting in the car!”
Vergara, 53, also shared videos from inside the emergency room where she seemingly moans in pain and another clip of her treating the allergy as she does a rinse in a faucet.
And while she didn’t make it to the ceremony, Vergara — who underwent a second knee surgery in July — had plenty of star power in her comments, sending well wishes her way.
“Oh no! Get well soon,” “America’s Got Talent” host Terry Crews wrote, while Snoop Dogg left a series of praying hands emojis.

Vergara wasn’t nominated for any awards during the ceremony but was announced as one of the evening’s many presenters, who included Angela Bassett, Colman Domingo, Sydney Sweeney, Kristen Bell and more.
Indeed, Vergara wasn’t the only familiar face that was not in attendance. “Euphoria’s” Eric Dane was set to also present, which follows news of his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis in April. However, his “Grey’s Anatomy” costar Jesse Williams took the stage solo and presented the award for Outstanding Directing in a Drama series.
And while there were a few celebs missing from the room, the show went on and some of the biggest stars flocked to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for TV’s biggest night.
