More patrols coming to Houston entertainment districts as Texas ramps up summer security

TULSA – Red dirt renegades Southall are bringing their signature blend of Oklahoma country grit to Hard Rock Live inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7.

Tickets start at $39.50 and went on sale Oct. 17.

Southall’s electrifying new self-titled album proves why the Oklahoma-born band is one of the most compelling forces in country rock. Blending red dirt grit with hard rock, metal and easygoing Americana, the six-person band delivers an album brimming with raw power and collaborative spirit.

Formerly known as the Read Southall Band, the group rebranded simply as Southall to showcase the full creative talents of each member.

“It’s the colors of different people with different influences making music,” frontman Read Southall said. “I’ve always been confident in the abilities of the guys onstage with me, and I want our fans to see and hear that too.”

Produced by Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan’s “American Heartbreak”) and recorded at the legendary Church Studio in Tulsa, Southall roars with 11 tracks of unfiltered energy. Each member contributes songs, from drummer Reid Barber’s Stones-style “Scared Money” to the experimental firestorm of “Out Alive,” which guitarist Ryan Wellman supercharged with a pen-as-slide solo reminiscent of Jack White. Bassist Jeremee Knipp, keyboardist Braxton Curliss and guitarists John Tyler Perry and Wellman bring a broad palette of sound, all tied together by Southall’s gritty, soulful vocals.

The band’s catalog has steadily built momentum, with earlier albums like “Borrowed Time” (2017) and “For the Birds” (2021). The track “Stickin’ n Movin’” landed a placement on the CBS series “Fire Country.” Today, Southall boasts more than 133 million Spotify streams, 101 million Apple Music streams and nearly 1 million monthly listeners across all platforms.

But for Southall, the story is more than just the music. It’s a testament to hard work, roots and representing Oklahoma values.

“I grew up when country music still had grit, listening to it on a tractor radio,” Southall added. “When it changed, I thought, ‘I can represent my people better than this.’ Work makes you who you are, and that’s what our songs are about.”

Southall captures that ethos in full force, delivering not only a record but also a rallying cry for resilience, grit and heart.
