The “Spaceballs 2” cast was confirmed Thursday as Amazon MGM Studios shared a photo from the upcoming sequel’s first table read.

The black-and-white picture confirms Rick Moranis (Lord Dark Helmet), Bill Pullman (Lone Starr), Mel Brooks (Yogurt and President Skroob), Daphne Zuniga (Princess Vespa) and George Wyner (Colonel Sandurz) are all reprising their roles from Brooks’ 1987 “Star Wars” spoof.

Brooks, 99, appears on Zoom in the center of the group photo, surrounded by the cast and creatives. Brooks is writing the sequel’s script with Josh Gad, Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez.

New cast members Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman and Anthony Carrigan also appear in the photo. They are all playing brand new characters.

Amazon has not revealed the official plot for “Spaceballs 2,” set for release in 2027.

A tentative logline jokingly describes the film as, “A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.”

The original “Spaceballs” also starred John Candy as Barf, Dick Van Patten as King Roland and Joan Rivers as the voice of Dot Matrix.

Brooks confirmed his involvement in the sequel in June, sharing a message with the infamous “Star Wars” opening crawl.

“In 38 years there has only ever been one … SPACEBALLS,” the opening crawl said, followed by, “Until now..”

“Spaceballs 2” will come out in 2027.

In a video message, the EGOT winner said, “After 40 years we asked what do the fans want, but instead, we’re making this movie.”

Voice projects aside, Brooks has not appeared in a movie since his cameo in 2005’s “The Producers,” the movie adaptation of the 2001 Broadway musical which was based on Brooks’ 1967 film of the same name.

Meanwhile, Moranis, 72, took a step back from acting in 1992 to focus on being a dad to daughter Rachel and son Mitchell after his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, died of breast cancer.

In 2020, he signed onto a new “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” sequel, but the project was delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moranis told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015: “I took a break, which turned into a longer break. But I’m interested in anything that I would find interesting. I still get the occasional query about a film or television role, and as soon as one comes along that piques my interest.”

“I was working with really interesting people, wonderful people. I went from that to being at home with a couple of little kids, which is a very different lifestyle. But it was important to me,” he added. “I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. My life is wonderful.”

In Oct. 2020, Moranis was randomly punched in the head and knocked to the ground while walking on Central Park West in New York City. The attacker, Marquis Ventura, was later sentenced to two years in prison on several counts of assault.

“Spaceballs 2” is scheduled to be released in 2027.
