Spring Story Time at the Old Forge Library
10:15-11 a.m. on April 24 in Old Forge
Five Spring Story Time sessions will be held on Fridays from April 24 through May 22 at the Old Forge Library.
Led by Old Forge Library staff, Beverly Meeker and Sarah Bolton, Story Time is designed for children ages 3–6. Each 45 minute session features stories and creative play, including games, crafts, songs and other gentle activities that encourage imagination and creative thinking.

The Grange concert: Blood Hill Strings

The Grange presents an intimate acoustic show with Blood Hill Strings, the duo of Lewis residents Doug Furman and Paul Buehler, in the listening space at Whitcomb’s. Come hear their instrumental and vocal blend.

25th annual Maple in April festival
9 a.m.-4 p.m. on April 25 on Rockwell Street in Hadley
This long-standing community tradition captures spring in the Adirondacks, blending the heritage of maple sugaring with a day of high-energy fun. From the nostalgic whistle of the Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway to the gleaming chrome at the Lil’ Sugar Dust Off Car Show, the festival offers a mix of vintage charm and local flavor.
ANZAC Day commemoration
11 a.m. on April 25 in Saranac Lake
Saranac Lake will commemorate Anzac Day, honoring Australia and New Zealand, their service members and all who have served, while raising awareness of post-traumatic stress. The village began this tradition 12 years ago following the death of Australian Army Captain Paul McKay on Scarface Mountain.
Observed each year on April 25, Anzac Day recognizes members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served and died in military operations, beginning with the Gallipoli campaign of World War I.
The day’s events will include a pre-dawn “Gunfire” hike to Captain McKay’s memorial on Scarface Mountain, as well as a commemoration at 11 a.m.

Landscaping workshop at Tannery Pond Community Center

Tannery Pond Center presents Native Yardening by Lisa Salamon, teaching participants how to renovate their property to support birds, fireflies, butterflies and other important creatures in our ADK ecosystem.
Upper Jay Art Center and Recovery Lounge concert

The Upper jay Art Center presents Lucinda Williams Project in concert. Lucinda Williams is a true American original, one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of her generation. Her vast catalogue of music ranges from Americana to full throttle rock and roll. This project, led by Scott Renderer, features an all-star lineup of local musicians interpreting Lucinda’s canon. Expect an evening of raw and gorgeous songs of love, lust, heartbreak and obsession.

Think Big! pottery workshop in Lake Placid

Arts Center Lake Placid is hosting local ceramicist Peter Shrope for a special two-week series called Think Big! This program is designed for those with experience on the potter’s wheel who are ready to push the boundaries of their work through the creation of large-scale vessels.

Fort William Henry’s 1st Annual Sportsman’s Dinner
4-8 p.m. on April 26 at the Carriage House in Lake George
This event will bring together hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts for a celebration of sportsman tradition, featuring a four-course game dinner, raffles, live auctions and exclusive prizes. Prepared by the Fort William Henry culinary team, the evening’s menu showcases bold, rustic flavors inspired by the hunt, including warm duck confit salad, wild boar ribs, venison bolognese and Norwegian apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
Guests will also enjoy cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to browse and participate in raffles and games throughout the evening. Last Cabin Fever Bingo and potluck of the season

The final Cabin Fever Bingo and potluck of the season offers one last chance this season to shout “BINGO!”
This free, all-ages event is all about good food, a little friendly competition and a lot of fun. The evening will feature classic bingo played on a professional machine, a lively guest caller, and plenty of prizes waiting to be won.
The library will provide a hearty main dish, beverages, and all necessary tableware. Guests who wish to contribute are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert, especially those with a recipe worth showing off.

Register for Rangeley Rendezvous paddling festival in June
June 19-21
The Rangeley Lakes Region in western Maine will be the site of a new paddling festival to kick off the summer season. The Rangeley Rendezvous will offer trips, clinics, a race and social activities for paddling enthusiasts. The event will be based in the town of Rangeley, but spread out to the many nearby scenic waterways. Participants are welcome to join for individual activities or the entire weekend.
The rendezvous will start on Friday with a social gathering, setting up two days of fun on the water. Participants will paddle through landscapes that are home to loons, moose, bald eagles and other wildlife.
