Bruce Springsteen played at Madison Square Garden on May 11. The crowd included New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Jon Bon Jovi, and actor Tom Hanks. This was the opening night of two concerts at the venue as part of the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour.
Kraft brought his wife, Dr. Dana Blumberg, and Goodell arrived with his wife, Jane Skinner Goodell. Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi, his wife, occupied seats in the same row as the football executives.
Operation Sports wrote, “Fans filled the Garden to hear Springsteen perform a setlist that blended classic hits, emotional ballads, and politically charged songs. The energy inside the venue reportedly remained strong throughout the night as the veteran performer continued showing why he remains one of the biggest live acts in music.”
More than half the tour dates have passed. Three shows in New York will precede stops in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Boston, and Washington.
Barclays Center in Brooklyn hosts the band on May 14. A second Madison Square Garden show will happen on May 16, and the tour will conclude in Philadelphia on May 30.
