Despite Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s extensive wedding guest list, a number of celebrities were not among the hundreds gathered inside Madison Square Garden to see the superstars say “I do.” And some of them have decided to “Speak Now.”
Days after the couple tied the knot on July 3 in front of the likes of Paul McCartney, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Tom Brady and Tom Hanks, several stars have publicly confirmed they didn’t attend the extravaganza, whether due to conflicts or not receiving an invite in the mail altogether.
Among those who were invited to the event were a mix of people in Kelce and Swift’s orbit such as NFL colleagues and Swift’s musical collaborators; members of their inner circle and surprise invitees like Liam Hemsworth, Tom Cruise and Donald Glover.
But “Star Wars” icon Mark Hamill did not receive a highly coveted invitation, he wrote in a cheeky July 5 Instagram post.
“Congratulations to the newlyweds!” Hamill wrote alongside a photo from Kelce and Swift’s engagement. “I declined to attend the wedding for a variety of personal reasons, but mainly because I wasn’t invited.”

Swift’s namesake, James Taylor, told a western Massachusetts crowd on July 3 that he and his wife, Caroline “Kim” Smedvig, had been invited to “a wedding at Madison Square Garden tonight,” according to The Berkshire Eagle. But instead, he and his All-Star Band were putting on their annual Independence Day performance at Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed.
“I do want to wish the couple all happiness and smooth sailing and strength when it can’t be smooth,” the legendary singer told the crowd, according to a video posted on social media.

During the July 6 radio program, Seacrest revealed that though he’d initially sent an affirmative RSVP, work got in the way for one of Hollywood’s busiest men.
“I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the third and the fourth, so I had to cancel,” Seacrest said. “It wasn’t a waste! I was actually really excited. I was kind of torn.”
Weeks after he RSVP’d, the “American Idol” host confirmed he would be attending when he ran into the couple at a restaurant, he told co-hosts Sisanie and Tanya Rad. Then he later reneged.
“Trust me, Tanya. I went through the minutes; I couldn’t have done both. The actual wedding was in the afternoon,” Seacrest continued. “But I was so honored and thrilled to be invited.”
“I had no choice; it’s part of my job at Disney to do these things,” Seacrest lamented.
