“How dare you, sir?” Colbert, who once lived in the city, fired back. “Chicago is not a hellhole right now. Chicago is not a hellhole until February.”
Shootings and homicides are down more than 30%, and total violent crime is down 22% compared with last year, according to police data. But Trump called Chicago “the worst and most dangerous city in the world” in a social media post.
That led Colbert to deliver a response that got bleeped.
“Worst and most dangerous?” Colbert fired back. “Two words: Fuck you.”
Only the second of those two words made it onto network television.
