The new series of Strictly Come Dancing has officially started

Strictly: Tess and Claudia perform skit with Chris McCausland
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left complaining during the official launch show.
On Saturday evening (September 20) hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman came back on our TV screens as they welcome 15 new celebrities to the famous ballroom.
The dazzling show kicked off with with a bang as the entire Strictly cast hit the dance floor for an epic opening performance.
Two new professionals arrived in style as Jessie J provided the music. Strictly champions Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell also returned for one last dance together after lifting the famous Glitterball trophy last year.

However, before the big performance, Chris and Dianne enjoyed a skit where the former celebrity winner did not want to give up his trophy.
Claudia and Tess were sent into panic as they tried to talk Chris around, with Dianne also trying to lure the star out of his dressing room using props from their previous Strictly performances.
Despite the good humour, Strictly fans were not impressed with the delay in getting the ballroom show started although many “loved” seeing Chris back on television screens.
Taking to X, one person wrote: “These “comedy” sketches just aren’t funny. It’s a Dancing Competition. Get on with the Dancing!”.
A second exclaimed: “Get on with it. #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly”, while a third chimed in: “These VT’s get worse every year but I adore Chris so it’s fine #Strictly.”
“Not ready for 3 months of unfunny skits #Strictly”, added one viewer as another stated: “Awwe Chris and Dianne #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”
Meanwhile, one viewer wrote: “Well, that was a corny opening for the new series but great to see Chris McCausland again. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”
