Suge Knight Says Drake’s 2Pac Chain Isn’t Real, Suggests Beating up Jeweler Who Sold It to Him

Suge Knight doesn’t think Drake’s 2Pac chain is authentic.

In a recent interview given to the Art of Dialogue from prison, Knight claimed the supposed Death Row Records chain that once belonged to Pac and has since been purchased by Drizzy isn’t real.

“Well, I’m quite sure it’s not true,” said Knight near the 40-second mark in the video linked above. “When I came up with the idea to make the Death Row chain—one, it had never been done before. Two, it was like wearing a, you know, it was like having your flag, your rag. You can’t tuck it, It means something.”

The Death Row Records co-founder explained that he was the only one who ever handed out authentic chains on behalf of the record label. He recalled giving the first one to Snoop Dogg, who later opted for a custom dog paw believing a Death Row chain would “cause too much controversy.”

Knight also said Dr. Dre and a few close affiliates had chains while noting, “None of the b**cheson Death Row had Death Row chains. The Dogg Pound [Kurupt and Daz Dillinger] didn’t even have Death Row chains.”

Following Pac’s release from jail in 1995, Knight recalled telling the rapper he would get him his own Death Row chain, which he refused.

“He’s like, ‘Shit, you my big bro. Let me wear yours, that’s more important. I don’t want a first one, I want to wear the one you got,’” he said.

According to Knight, Pac wore his diamond-covered chain immediately upon his release, and no one else had that piece.

“That’s not 2Pac’s chain. It’s not a Death Row chain. Whoever sold you that chain, Drake, you need to go beat his motherfucking ass. Crazy,” Knight said, suggesting that he should connect with those who still represented Pac truthfully instead of “weirdos were jealous and hating” on him.

Drake, who is currently touring through Europe, shared photos with the supposedly fake chain in question to his Instagram account earlier this week.

A close-up of the piece shows it has “All eyez on YOU 1996” engraved on the back.

Drake’s fascination with 2Pac’s legacy, particularly his jewelry, has long been documented.

In 2023, he paid over $1 million at a Sotheby’s auction for Pac’s crown ring, later revealing his ownership in an Instagram Story before wearing it publicly. That ring became part of Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar, who rapped during his Pop Out – Ken & Friends concert that summer, “Give me 2pac ring back and I might give you a little respect.”

Drake had also commissioned two diamond chains in 2020 inspired by 2Pac, each valued at about $300,000.
