Berks Summer Fest
Berks Arts, in partnership with the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, will present the fourth annual Berks Summer Fest Saturday at the GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St., Reading. The free event will feature music, children’s activities and local arts experiences. Festivities start at 11:30 a.m.
The open-air Thorn Alley Stage will feature performances by Bennie Sims and The Groovemasters, the Dexter Sales Quartet, Caya Sol Reggae Band and Flamin’ Dick & The Hot Rods.

The Berks County Fair runs through Saturday at the fairgrounds in Bern Township. Activities include music, carnival rides, Pennsylvania Dutch food, agricultural exhibits, rodeo and demolition derby.
Book Bonanza
The Berks Book Bonanza runs through Sunday at 400 E. Wyomissing Ave. in Mohnton. The event features used hardcover and paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games at prices of $2 or less for general items. They also offer specialty materials and collectible books.

Photo exhibit
The exhibit “Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad” runs through Aug. 11 at the Reading Public Museum (readingpublicmuseum.org). This exhibition features photographs, ephemera, and narratives that tell the story of the Underground Railroad.
