A Summer House spinoff is coming—and it will reportedly feature several longtime cast members from the original series.
In a Sept. 17 Instagram video, Bravo teased the new series with a video featuring the Bravo reality show’s summertime Hamptons mansion and camera shots of the bedrooms. Original cast member Kyle Cooke could be heard saying, “Another one in the books,” as the group packed up for their final summer weekend.
“City life: activated!” the caption to the post read. “A new series is coming soon…”
More details were provided in a press release shared by E! News. “In the city that never sleeps, a group of New Yorkers navigates the biggest transitions of their lives—marriage, parenthood, reinvention and the reality of growing up without growing apart,” the logline teased. “Can they have it all, or will they need to choose between the lives they’ve built and the futures they never saw coming?”
While no cast members were announced by Bravo, a source told People magazine that the working title for the series is In The City, and it is currently in production with production company Truly Original.
The insider also revealed that Summer House OGs Lindsay Hubbard, Kyle Cooke, and Amanda Batula will all be part of the show, as will former cast member Andrea Denver and his wife Lexi Sundin. Veteran cast member Carl Radke was not confirmed for the new series.
Like Cooke and Hubbard, Radke, 40, has been a main cast member of Summer House since the series debuted in 2017. He is one of their best friends and worked for their Loverboy beverage company before recently launching a non-alcoholic bar business.
Fans reacted to the spinoff news on social media.
“Lindsay in the city, LFG!” one fan wrote on Instagram.
“That’s my girl!!!!! @lindshubbs,” added “Real Housewives of New York City” star Erin Lichy.
“My Summer House kids growing up?!?” added another.
On Reddit, a fan noted, “No mention of Carl 👀.”
“Yeah, that’s interesting. Especially since he’s opening his bar…” another added.
While it would be a surprise if Radke isn’t on the show, less shocking would be the absence of Paige DeSorbo. The fan favorite joined Summer House in Season 3, but exited the series ahead of the recently filmed Season 10.
In a recent interview with Byrdie, DeSorbo explained why she felt it was time to leave reality TV in her past. “I know I would’ve been doing a disservice to [the show],” she explained. “They expect a certain level of showing up, and I couldn’t give them that.”
“I definitely had to get over the [feeling] that my career would be over,” the “Summer House” alum added of her decision to depart the series. “There’s an element of thinking you need that show and network.”
