Susan Kelechi Watson To Recur On ‘High Potential’ As Character With Ties To Daniel Sunjata’s Karadec

After High Potential showrunner Todd Harthan teased some “exciting guest stars” to come, Susan Kelechi Watson has joined Season 2 of the ABC light procedural.

The This Is Us alumna has been cast in a recurring role as “a woman from Karadec’s (Daniel Sunjata) past” who would first appear in the Jan. 27 episode. Could she be playing the detective’s ex-fiancée Lucia, who he revealed in Season 1 had left him because he was married to his job?

Watson’s character is described “wry, open-hearted, and independent. Always chasing what’s next, not out of recklessness, but out of a real appetite for life. She follows her curiosity wherever it leads, whether that’s a new city, a new flavor, or a new chapter.”
