The 22-second clip, shared on the White House’s official account, features the lyric “Keep it one hundred on the land, the sea, the sky” emblazoned over clips of different branches of the military, before cutting to pictures of Trump, JD Vance, and their respective spouses when the song reaches the line “Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes.” A picture of Trump’s mugshot also flashes on-screen, accompanied by the lyric “don’t care where the hell you been.” The incident sparked an immediate backlash from Swift fans, who flooded the comments to criticize the crass appropriation of the song’s lyrics. “Ohhh Taylor is going to hate you’re using her song,” one user wrote. “I’m sure Taylor is going to be thrilled,” quipped another. “What happened to ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT’?” a third asked, referring to a previous post made the president, while others implored Swift to sue the administration over the presumably unauthorized use of her song.
