Taylor Swift was expected to attend the 2026 American Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25. The pop icon led the pack of nominees this year with eight nods, including Artist of the Year, Best Female Pop Artist, Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for The Life of a Showgirl, Song of the Year, Best Music Video and Best Pop Song for “The Fate of Ophelia” and Song of the Summer for “Elizabeth Taylor.”
However, the pop star skipped the show because she is reportedly in New York City with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, busy preparing for their upcoming nuptials. As per Elle, while in the city, the couple also attended a wedding and were seen at several dinner dates. While the singer and the NFL star have been tight-lipped about their wedding date and have also kept ceremony details under wraps, in September 2025, Swift said on Heart Breakfast that she wanted to have a destination wedding.
“You would think that I would’ve been the type of person who would’ve obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do… until I met the person,” she revealed.
However, while several reports are stating that the couple will get married in NYC on July 3, a source told Page Six, “That’s not when that wedding is happening. Trust me.” Nonetheless, it is said that the couple would invite almost every big name of the entertainment and music industries, including Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Zoe Kravitz, along with many others.
