“And, baby, that’s show business for you.”
Taylor Swift unveiled her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which will be released Oct. 3. The announcement followed a glittery orange countdown on her website, where she also revealed the album’s cover art.
Swift said the album will feature 12 tracks, including “Actually Romantic,” “Father Figure,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Cancelled!” and “Honey.” Unlike her previous release, which was issued in two parts, this project will contain only a single set of songs.
Swift announced that a new album was coming during a surprise teaser for her upcoming appearance on “New Heights,” the podcast co-hosted by her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason.
Swift’s last album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” arrived nearly a year ago and included tracks like “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” widely believed to reference her relationship with Kelce. “The Life of a Showgirl” will also be her first album announcement since regaining ownership of her master recordings.
Swift, known for her elaborate Easter eggs, has turned such interactive rollouts into a trademark, fueling anticipation with each new project.
