Power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are keeping fans guessing as speculation over their rumored July 2026 wedding continues to grow. But amid all the excitement, one question remains on everyone’s mind: Will Swift and Kelce sign a prenup before they say “I do”?
According to Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, the answer is yes. In a June 20 report, Shuter revealed that Swift’s father, Scott Swift, has “quietly helped oversee an ironclad prenup”—an understandable move, given Swift’s billion-dollar fortune.

“Scott is the definition of a great father,” a source told Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “He’s spent his entire adult life protecting Taylor while giving her the freedom to become the biggest star in the world. He’s always there, but never in the spotlight.”
Another insider described Scott as “polite, charming, and incredibly warm,” but emphasized that no one is as sharp as he is regarding protecting Swift and her business ventures. “When you’re dealing with nearly $2 billion in combined assets, a prenup isn’t a sign of mistrust,” a source close to the situation explained. “It’s smart business.”
Luckily for Scott, both the “Love Story” singer and Kansas City Chiefs player are said to “fully support” the prenup. “Travis respects Scott tremendously,” the source added. “He understands that Scott helped build one of the most successful entertainment brands in history. There was never any drama and never any pushback.”
Friends of Swift and Kelce claim that the prenup agreement highlights the qualities that make their relationship thrive. As one insider put it, “Taylor has romance in her heart and Scott has business in his head. The prenup isn’t about preparing for failure—it’s about protecting everything they’ve built.”
The prenup news came after a June 18 report from TMZ that claimed Swift and Kelce’s wedding plans had been canceled. The pair originally planned to tie the knot in Rhode Island on Saturday, June 13, but they ditched that idea after the venue leaked online. “We’re told the couple bailed after word got out about the venue,” the outlet said.
Early reports pointed out the Ocean House, a five-star hotel near Taylor’s Rhode Island home (known as “High Watch”), as the original wedding venue. However, following the leaks, reports now suggest that Swift and Kelce are considering having their wedding at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3.
As for the actual ceremony, TMZ reported that it’s “looking increasingly likely the nuptials will not take place at the Garden, but somewhere more intimate.”
