Taylor Swift’s new album, Life of a Showgirl, appears to have an orange theme. And that theme was plugged in the biggest way possible.
To celebrate the news of Swift’s 12th studio album, The Empire State Building was illuminated with orange lights on August 12.
A post on the official Instagram account for the New York City landmark featured an image of the building lit with bright orange lights. The caption read, “Onto the next era!”
Fans reacted with thousands of “likes” and comments.
“INSANE!!!! This is amazing!!!!!” one fan wrote.
“You’re the tallest swiftie I know. Love that about you,” another wrote.
“Welcome to New York, TS12! We’ve been waiting for you 🧡❤️🔥🧡,” a third fan chimed in.
Taylor Swift Dropped Other Orange Easter Eggs
Orange has been appearing everywhere Swifties look.
Ahead of the album announcement, Swift’s social media profiles featured a thumbnail of a glittery orange lock. In addition, Taylor Nation, a branch of Swift’s marketing team, posted 12 photos from the Eras Tour that featured the singer wearing orange in every picture.
“Thinking about when she said “See you next era…” ❤️🔥,” came the caption.
Marie Claire noted that Swift has also been wearing orange-brown lipstick and that the orange color could be a nod to her boyfriend’s Kansas City Chiefs uniform colors, which are red and yellow. As in, red + yellow makes orange.

Swift announced the name of her new album in a teaser for her appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast with his brother Jason. In the background of the New Heights set, three orange books could be seen on a shelf.
In a video clip shared on Instagram at 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12, Swift, 35, asked Kelce, “Can I show you something?”
She then pulled out a mint green briefcase with the letters TS on it in orange and revealed that the case contained a copy of her new album. The cover was blurred but shades of mint and orange could be seen on the cover.
“This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift then revealed.
“TS 12!” Travis replied.
No release date for Taylor Swift’s new album has been announced yet.
