Taylor Swift’s New Eras Tour Docuseries Gives Us a Glimpse Behind Her Sets

This morning, Taylor Swift made yet another big announcement. Just 10 days after releasing her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, the prolific pop star shared that a six-episode docuseries on the Eras Tour, plus a full concert film, The Eras Tour | The Final Show, will debut on Disney+ on December 12.

Swift also posted a teaser for both projects on social media, where her followers got an early look at what will be covered in the series. Here at ELLE Decor, we were particularly intrigued by the new views of the Eras Tour sets, shown in progress at Swift’s rehearsals and from new angles. We also get glimpses backstage, as the camera follows Swift through every part of her sold-out mega tour.

In the teaser, we see cranes and trucks constructing the massive sets, which range from a full moss-covered house for the Folklore era to a built-out corporate-style structure for Swift’s performance of “The Man” in her Lover era. These varied large-scale sets were overseen by the Eras Tour’s creative director Ethan Tobman, who has also worked on many of Swift’s music videos, including the recently debuted “The Fate of Ophelia.”

We also get to look backstage, as Swift, in her Speak Now era purple dress prepares to head out to perform “Enchanted” and interacts with her parents and dancers before and after shows. There are shots of Swift practicing in what looks to be a green room with Ed Sheeran and Sabrina Carpenter. There’s also a glimpse under the stage, as Swift kisses fiancé Travis Kelce.

“It was the End of an Era and we knew it,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.”

We’ll get a closer look at the sets when the series debuts, with two episodes airing each week, beginning December 12.
