Acclaimed Māori R&B singer-songwriter TEEKS will return to the Sydney Opera House later this year for the first live performance of his new music.
The Aotearoa artist, born Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi, will perform at the venue’s Concert Hall on Wednesday, November 18th.
The show marks TEEKS’ first Sydney Opera House appearance since his sold-out debut at Vivid LIVE in 2022, when he performed at the Joan Sutherland Theatre.
Known for his rich baritone voice and intimate songwriting, the Northland-born musician first broke through with his 2017 EP, The Grapefruit Skies. He followed it with his platinum-certified debut album, Something to Feel, in 2021.
TEEKS recently released “My Boy”, his first single in more than two years. The song challenges ideas around queerness and masculinity while signalling a new chapter of emotional candour for the singer-songwriter.

“Since his blazing first Sydney appearance in the Joan Sutherland Theatre to a rapturous sold-out crowd at Vivid LIVE in 2022, TEEKS has had a global impact with his immense talent and compelling vulnerability – his magnetic voice is as heartfelt as it is profound. We can’t wait to hear the first notes of his highly anticipated, soul-baring new material ring out across the Concert Hall in what promises to be a transcendent experience, verging on the sacred”.

TEEKS has received several of Aotearoa’s highest music honours, including Aotearoa Music Awards for Best Māori Artist, Best Solo Artist and Best Soul/R&B Artist.
He was also named Best New Zealand Act at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards and won Best New Artist at the 2022 Rolling Stone Australia Awards.
TEEKS will perform at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall at 8pm on Wednesday, November 18th. Sydney Opera House Insiders can access a pre-sale from 9am AEST on Tuesday, July 28th, followed by the What’s On pre-sale at 9am AEST on Wednesday, July 29th. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 9am AEST on Friday, July 31st through the Sydney Opera House website and box office.
