Oakland First Fridays seeks sponsors as funding challenges force entertainment cuts

Teenage Joans have announced a run of shows for October and November 2025, marking their first solo headlining tour in two years. The shows come in support of the Adelaide pop-punk duo’s recently-released single ‘My Heart’s Dead!’, which came out last Friday (August 8th). The full list of the band’s upcoming tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.

Fellow Adelaide duo Towns are set to serve as main support for all shows, while opening duties will be handled by Melbourne emo band Bukowski for all dates except Brisbane; there, they will be replaced on the bill by local skate-punk band Talk Heavy. These will mark Teenage Joans’ only headlining shows for 2025, with their other upcoming tour dates being in support of Slowly Slowly on their regional tour through Victoria, Queensland and Hobart throughout September.

Teenage Joans – ‘My Heart’s Dead!’

‘My Heart’s Dead!’ is Teenage Joans’ second single of 2025, following on from the release of ‘Sweet & Slow’ back in April. Both singles were recorded with producer Jared Nettle, who has also worked with several other Adelaide bands such as Sunsick Daisy, Colourblind, Raccoon City and the aforementioned Towns. They premiered it live on the day of release, supporting Canadian rock band PUP at the first of their Australian tour dates at the Princess Theatre in Brisbane. The two bands played their final show together last night (August 14th) in Perth, at the city’s Magnet House.

Since the release of their debut album, 2023’s The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest, Teenage Joans have continued to tour and record. They embarked on an extensive co-headlining national tour with Between You & Me last year, resulting in the collaborative single ‘1800-PAINLESS’, and also appeared on triple j‘s Like A Version segment for the first time, where they performed ‘1800-PAINLESS’ with BYAM and also covered Carly Rae Jepsen‘s 2011 hit single ‘Call Me Maybe’.

2024 also saw the independent, Bandcamp-only release of their protest song ‘Intifada’. The song, which raised proceeds for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), was written in solidarity with the people of Palestine and in direct opposition to Israel’s ongoing genocide, including the starvation of children and the bombing of hospitals. “Punk isn’t a genre, it’s a movement,” the band said at the time of the song’s release. “It’s about standing up for human rights, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and their right to live in peace.”
