If there’s one thing the late ‘90s and early 2000s were good for, it was launching horror franchises. The final years of the millennium saw the kick-off and two follow-ups in Wes Craven’s Scream franchise, while we were also introduced to a different group of friends’ nightmare courtesy of Jim Gillespie’s I Know What You Did Last Summer and Danny Cannon’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Considering that both of these franchises have had brand-new installments come out over the last year, we’d say they’re still going strong and proving their timeless power a full 30 years later.
