Netflix has pinned their hopes on the recent Western series, The Abandons, becoming their own Yellowstone-esque franchise. Instead, the series has already been cancelled after just one season (the latest victim in a far too familiar trend from the streamer), with the original creator behind the show, Sons of Anarchy and The Shield’sKurt Sutter, taking to Instagram to slam the platform for ignoring the “creator’s vision” over the almighty algorithm.
In a now edited post, Sutter shared a graphic covered in different headlines about The Abandons’ cancellation, such as, “Netflix Pulls the Plug After Just One Month,” “Gillian Anderson & Lena Heady Series Ends on Cliffhanger,” and “19.8M Views Weren’t Enough.
