The Family Stone Band will take the stage at Allegiant Stadium for halftime when the Las Vegas Raiders host the New York Giants.
Honoring the legacy of Sly Stone, Sunday’s performance will feature The Family Stone Band with original Sly and the Family Stone founding members and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Jerry Martini and Greg Errico. The Family Stone has kept the music of Sly and the Family Stone alive on stages around the world for more than 25 years. Carrying the torch forward is powerhouse vocalist Phunne Stone, daughter of Cynthia Robinson and Sly Stone. The Family Stone remains true to its original mission: to uplift, unite, and inspire. Still proudly multi-racial and multi-gender, the band continues to move audiences of all ages — calling on the world to stand for peace, equality and everyday people. Formed in San Francisco (1966), Sly and the Family Stone made history as America’s first major multi-racial, multi-gender touring band. Their infectious blend of funk, soul, R&B, rock and psychedelia propelled them to global fame.
Grammy Award-winning artist Joelle James will perform the National Anthem. A Platinum songwriter, James was born and raised in Murrieta, California. While at Berklee College of Music, she began uploading soulful covers of Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige to YouTube — videos that caught the attention of one of the world’s biggest artists, Chris Brown. Brown subsequently signed James to his CBE / Interscope Records imprint. In addition to the Grammy-winning “Boo’d Up,” Joelle James has written for an elite roster of artists including Tamar Braxton, Saweetie, JoJo, Muni Long, Coi Leray and Coco Jones, among many others shaping contemporary music culture.
The Raiders House Band returns for its fifth year of entertaining Raider Nation. This All-Star ensemble is an exciting, innovative and dynamic 15-piece orchestra led by David Perrico’s powerful trumpet and stunning vocalists, featuring an all-female acoustic string section. The house band is comprised of world-class Las Vegas musicians who have performed with the likes of superstar entertainers Celine Dion, Santana, Beyonce, Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Shania Twain and Diana Ross.
