1) Out comedian Caleb Hearon’s upcoming film Trash Mountain has announced his cast. Hearon will play the lead, a young gay man living in Chicago who returns to his hometown following his father’s death. The cast also includes out actor Jaboukie Young-White, and is executive produced by Lilly Wachowski.

2) Out actor Colman Domingo has joined the cast of Wicked: For Good as the voice of the iconic Cowardly Lion. He joins fellow queer stars Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang, and Marissa Bode. Wicked: For Good will be in theaters on November 20.In more casting news, out actor Kit Connor has joined the cast of A Long Winter, the upcoming film from out writer and director Andrew Haigh. The film follows two sons whose alcoholic mother goes missing during a snowstorm.
4) FX’s comedy Adults has been renewed for a second season. The show follows a group of friends who live in one of their childhood homes in Queens and their misadventures of being in their 20s. The show features a mainly queer ensemble including Anton, played by out actor Owen Thiele, and the Canadian and sexuality fluid Paul Baker (Jack Innanen).
5) Out filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun has been tapped to create, write, and direct Black Hole, an adaption of bestselling graphic novels, for Netflix. The show follows a mysterious virus that attacks people from a small town who have sex to young, and casts those infected out to live in the woods.

6) Project Runway has been renewed for season 22, with the judges and mentors returning, including out mentor Christian Siriano and out judge Law Roach. The new season will debut in 2026. Apple TV’s comedy Shrinking announced that it will premiere its third season on Wednesday, January 28. The show will continue to feature out actor Michael Urie as Brian, the best friend of protagonist Jimmy.
7) Out Actor Murray Bartlett has been cast in Netflix’s All the Sinners Bleed, a new limited series that follows the first Black sheriff in a small town. Bartlett will portray the charmain fo the board of supervisors in the town. In more casting news, out actor Michael Hsu Rosen has been cast in the second season of Presumed Innocent, an anthology legal thriller from Apple TV. The show follows a new high profile legal case each season.
8) Out actress Evan Rachel Wood has been cast in The Shards, a new series from FX and out creator Ryan Murphy. The series is an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s thriller novel of the same name. In other Ryan Murphy news, the cast has been announced for the 13th season of American Horror Story. Out actress Sarah Paulson is returning to the series along with a slew of other stars, including Ariana Grande.
9) The nominations for the Gotham Film Awards have been announced. LGBTQ nominees include Eva Victor in the Best Original Screenplay for Sorry, Baby, Harry Lighton in Best Adapted Screenplay for Pillion, Tessa Thompson in Outstanding Lead Performance for Hedda, Indya Moore and Andrew Scott in Best Supporting Performance for Father Mother Sister Brother and Blue Moon respectively, and Tonatiuh in Breakthrough Performer for Kiss of the Spider Woman.
