EDISON – There’s a new community gathering spot featuring live music, food trucks, lawn games, seating and a relaxed atmosphere.
The Grove at Polansky Park, located at 839 Grove Ave. across from J.P. Stevens High School, is the township’s newest summer weekend social experience for adults. It aims to foster community connections during summer evenings.
Polansky Park is named for former NASA astronaut Mark L. Polansky, a 1974 graduate of J.P. Stevens High School in Edison. He served as space shuttle Discovery commander in 2006 and was a pilot on a 2001 shuttle mission.
Starting this month and continuing through the summer, plans include entertainment options such as live music performances and a rotating selection of food trucks on select days.
“We are thrilled to open The Grove at Polansky Park as a hub for our community,” Mayor Sam Joshi stated. “This summer social is all about bringing people together to enjoy great food, music and camaraderie in a beautiful outdoor setting.”
