The Invite is Olivia Wilde‘s latest directorial outing. It came out in limited theaters earlier this summer with an expanded theatrical run coming in July. But does it have a streaming date? Here’s what we know.
When does The Invite come out on streaming?
A streaming date for The Invite hasn’t been announced yet. The streaming release will be announced sometime after its theatrical release.
When does The Invite come out in theaters?
The Invite came out in limited theaters on June 26 and comes out in theaters nationwide on July 10.
What is The Invite about?
Wilde directs and stars in The Invite, with costars Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. In The Invite, a dinner party spirals into unexpected places when a couple invite their enigmatic neighbors over. Have they reignited the spark in their troubled marriage — or lit the match that burns it all down?
Wilde didn’t write The Invite. It was written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
Is there a trailer for The Invite?
Yes, you can see Rogen, Wilde, Cruz, and Norton together in The Invite trailer above.
Wilde and Rogen play Angela and Joe, who invite Cruz and Norton’s Piña and Hawk over for dinner. When Piña and Hawk tell Angela and Joe that they have something they want to talk to them about, the last thing they expected to hear was that the couple feels a “very strong connection” to them, but they’re thrilled by the attention.
Angela says it’s the “happiest night” of her life in a private talk with Joe. Piña and Hawk suggest a game, and Joe has to double check that they really want him involved, too. This night might be just what Angela and Joe’s marriage needs to get back on its feet.
The comedy-drama is produced by A24.
Wilde has another new movie coming in July called I Want Your Sex, which also stars Cooper Hoffman, Daveed Diggs, Charli XCX, Chase Sui Wonders, Mason Gooding, Margaret Cho, and Johnny Knoxville. I Want Your Sex is directed by Gregg Araki.
