“The Life of a Showgirl,” the new album from Rhode Island homeowner Taylor Swift, is officially here, leading fans everywhere to celebrate with nonstop listening and running to Target to secure an exclusive record.
However, for her twelfth album, Swift has planned another way for fans to celebrate – an official release party, happening in theaters across the country – including New England. This weekend only, Swifties can catch an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the album on the big screen during “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.”
Here’s what to know about “The Life of a Showgirl” movie, as well as how to grab tickets before it’s too late.
About ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ movie
Taylor Swift appears on the cover of her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Officially titled “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” the album’s movie will feature “the exclusive world premiere of the music video, ‘The Fate of Ophelia,’ along with behind-the-scenes footage from the music video shoot, brand new lyric videos, and Taylor’s never-before-seen personal reflections on songs from her 12th studio album,” according to the AMC website.
In Swift’s Instagram announcement for the movie, she calls the release party “a dazzling soirée” where “dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
The movie is about 89 minutes long, and no trailers will be shown beforehand – meaning viewers should plan to be seated right at the listed start time.
When and where is ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ movie in theaters?
Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” will drop Oct. 3.
“Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” will only be shown in theaters from Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5. Theaters playing the movie include all AMC theatre locations in North America, as well as select Cinemark, Showcase and Regal theaters in the U.S.
The first showings will begin at 3 p.m. EST or noon PST on Friday, Oct. 3.

How to get tickets to ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ movie
Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” will drop Oct. 3.
Though Swift announced the movie on Instagram back on Sept. 19, “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” is not completely sold out at all theaters. To find available showtimes at a theater near you, visit Taylor Swift’s website.
Tickets, which can be bought online, start at $12 per person. Since the movie is a special event, tickets are limited and will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
