DENNIS TOWNSHIP – The Range, on Route 9, is a huge entertainment complex that has been a labor of love for Sean Collins and his business partner, Matt Wojcik. The multi-acre property might be familiar to anybody who has driven down Route 9 around Ocean View; the old property sat vacant for many years before it was fully transformed and brought back to life as “The Range.”
Sean said that he grew up seeing the driving range and batting cages that operated here for decades. His first-ever job was here as a kid, thirty years ago, and he is excited to be back. It was a shame, he said, that it was neglected for so long. He and Wojcik saw the potential for this place and invested three years of their lives into making it vibrant and fun once again.
He took the Herald on a tour of the new facility, outlining the ways they made it fresh and new.
The Range might sit on the site of an old entertainment complex, but nearly everything here is new, down to every aspect.
A Standout Mini Golf Course
Mini golf is beautiful at night!
The intricate 18-hole mini golf course is challenging and filled with fun gimmicks. Collins said that, when he bought the property, the course was almost completely overgrown. They spent over a year resurfacing the green, re-doing mason and stone work along the main mini golf path, and overall making it one of the best mini golf courses in the area. “It’s not just filled with boring 8-foot putts, it’s a detailed and rewarding course,” Collins said.
“Seadubs” Card Shop:
The Range is home to the newest card shop in South Jersey, specializing in Pokémon cards, sports cards, graded cards, booster packs, and more. Seadubs Card Shop will soon host trade nights for kids, organized Pokémon leagues, and other competitive events, right here on-property at The Range.
24/7 Driving Range:
Rain or shine, snow or storm, summer or winter, the driving range is available for sure any time of day thanks to a self-serve ball machine. Golfers are covered from the elements with a gorgeous wraparound pavilion that serves as The Range’s focal point. Getting the driving range up and going – and better than before – was a huge effort. Netting had to be re-done, the field had to be completely cleared of trees, and the covered pavilion needed a ton of work. But the work paid off, and golfers use this place year-round.
Batting Cages, a Rare Sight

Nine batting cages at The Range dispense either baseballs or softballs at varying pitch speeds.
Full-service batting cages like this are rare. Step right up to one of the nine mounds and bat balls as they whizz by you, tossed from a machine. Each of the nine batting cages pitch at different speeds: fast pitch baseballs, high toss softball, 40-50 mph, 50-60 mph, and 60-70 mph. It’s an impressive thing to watch, and a lot of work went into restoring the original pitching machines that would have otherwise gone to waste had they sat here any longer.
Ice Cream, of Course!

Be warned: that’s a lot of ice cream.
The Range offers quality, premium ice cream at a competitive price. Sean and Matt wanted The Range’s ice cream shop to offer huge sundaes and special treats that help it stand out. Alongside traditional ice cream treats, they offer Acai bowls with fresh fruit, granola, honey, and other fresh toppings.
Arcade & Birthday Parties!

The arcade has air hockey, a classic.
The Range has a fun selection of arcade classics, like air hockey, basketball, and claw machines for kids of all ages. It’s the perfect place to have a birthday party!
