The Rolling Stones are giving fans another taste of their upcoming studio album, Foreign Tongues, with the release of two brand-new tracks: “Jealous Lover” and “Divine Intervention.”
The songs arrive just weeks before the legendary rock band’s 25th studio album is set to be released on July 10. “Divine Intervention” features a notable guest appearance from Robert Smith of The Cure.
“Jealous Lover” Arrives With a Star-Studded Music Video
Leading the release is “Jealous Lover,” accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Chris Barrett and Luke Taylor, whose previous work includes collaborations with Radiohead and Jack White. The video stars actors Anya Taylor-Joy and Charles Melton and is available exclusively on Amazon Music.
The band, however, uploaded a lyric video to their YouTube page.
Robert Smith Joins the Stones on “Divine Intervention”
The second release, “Divine Intervention,” reunites two iconic names in rock music by featuring Smith, frontman of The Cure.
While Smith’s contribution blends seamlessly into the track, the collaboration marks one of several high-profile guest appearances on Foreign Tongues. The upcoming album also includes contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Chad Smith, and the late Charlie Watts, whose final recordings with the band are featured on the project.
Another Preview of Foreign Tongues
“Jealous Lover” and “Divine Intervention” follow the previously released songs “In the Stars” and “Rough and Twisted,” continuing the rollout for Foreign Tongues.
Produced by Andrew Watt, the album marks the band’s first studio effort since 2023’s Hackney Diamonds. Despite ongoing speculation about the band’s future on the road, the new record demonstrates that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood remain creatively active in making music more than six decades into their career.
Fans Welcome Another Chapter From The Rolling Stones
The dual release has generated excitement among longtime fans eager to hear more from the upcoming album. Many have praised the Stones for continuing to explore new collaborations while staying true to the blues-rock sound that has defined their legacy.
With Foreign Tongues just around the corner, the release of “Jealous Lover” and “Divine Intervention” builds anticipation for what promises to be another significant chapter in one of rock’s most enduring careers.
