To mark the release, a cinematic music video directed by the acclaimed duo Chris Barrett and Luke Taylor has premiered via Amazon Music. The visual features high-profile performances from Hollywood stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Charles Melton.
Moving away from the upbeat pop-rock energy of their previous single, “In The Stars,” the new track embraces a soulful, R&B-infused groove. Mick Jagger delivers a captivating falsetto lead vocal, offering a sharp and humorous lyrical warning to an over-inquisitive partner. The song is anchored by the intricate, signature guitar interplay of Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, supported by a deep rhythm section featuring bassist Darryl Jones and drummer Steve Jordan. Longtime collaborator Steve Winwood adds rich Rhodes and organ textures, while producer Andrew Watt provides additional instrumentation.
In a surprise move, the digital release arrives as a double-feature alongside another new album track, “Divine Intervention.” The brooding composition is one of two songs on the upcoming record to feature a special guest appearance by The Cure frontman Robert Smith on electric guitar.
Coinciding with the musical drop, the band has launched the first episode of an exclusive six-part podcast series titled Speaking In Tongues. Hosted by singer-songwriter Norah Jones, the audio series takes listeners directly inside the studio to trace the inspiration, writing, and recording of the new album. Following the massive success of their 2023 Grammy-winning record Hackney Diamonds, Jagger, Richards, and Wood use the episodes to reflect on their creative techniques. The podcast will also feature insight from album contributors, including Andrew Watt, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith, and cover artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn.
