Prince Harry is reportedly “very keen” to bring his kids to see certain family members during an upcoming trip to the United Kingdom with Meghan Markle.
The BBC confirmed on June 18 that the Sussexes are planning to return to the UK next month, alongside their two kids, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5. According to sources for Vanity Fair, the trip is partly due to Harry’s wish to introduce his kids to his family.

“Harry wants to bring the kids to see his family—not just the Windsors, but the Spencers too,” the insider said. The Spencers, of course, refer to the family of his late mother, Princess Diana. They include Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Diana’s eldest sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, Diana’s older sister, and Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother.
“He wants to spend time with the wider family,” the source continued. “Harry is, and has for some time been, very keen to have the kids come over to the UK. There’s been a feeling of such sadness that he’s not been able to bring them to the UK.”

The source also revealed that the trip isn’t impromptu and has been in the works for a while. “This has been on the cards for some time,” they revealed. “Next year would have been the obvious time, when the Invictus Games take place in Birmingham, but for whatever reason, it is happening this summer.”
As for the Windsor family, reaction has reportedly been varied when it comes to Harry’s return. While his father, King Charles III, seems ecstatic with the news, and it is reportedly “bending over backwards” to accommodate the family of four, Prince William is keeping his distance.
“William won’t be seeing his brother,” the source said. “I suspect he will make sure he’s miles away when Harry visits to avoid any awkward encounters.”

As a reminder, brother Harry and William cut ties with one another following Harry’s departure from royal life. That includes Harry and Markle’s explosive 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, as well as Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare, which included personal details about William and his bumpy relationship.
“Harry has tried to make contact repeatedly, but William won’t take his calls,” the insider said. “He is not minded to a reconciliation at all, and the fact that his father is bending over backwards to make Harry’s visit happen has become the source of deep irritation for William.”
“William is known to hold a grudge, whereas Charles just wants peace,” a family friend told the outlet. “They come to the Harry situation from different perspectives. Charles is of the view that one must forgive and move on. William won’t do that. Not yet and maybe never.”
Regardless of how bitter William still is about the situation, Harry’s plans to return to the UK and spend quality time with his family and his kids are still very much underway. In fact, new reports from the BBC confirm the Sussexes have also been “offered accommodation on a royal estate.” Talk about a warm welcome!
