JAMESTOWN – South Prairie-Max defeated Watford City in dominating fashion, 75-25, in the quarterfinals of the 2026 NDHSAA Division A Girls Basketball State Tournament on Thursday, March 5, at the Jamestown Civic Center.
The Royals were lethal from beyond the arc as they drained 10 3-pointers. Junior guard Mya Gunville went 4-for-4 from 3-point range.

Three different Royals scored double-digit points, with senior guard Skotti Beck having a game-high 19 points for the Royals.
As a team, the Royals shot 45.5% form the field with nine different Royals scoring. The bench contributed 19 points for the cause.
The Royals defense controlled the game as the Wolves were held to single-digit points in every quarter and never got into a groove. An aggressive Royals defense, held the Wolves to 18% shooting from the field.
In an all around game, the Royals out rebounded the Wolves 44-25 and had 11 steals to Watford City’s six.
South Prairie-Max will take on Kindred in the semifinals on Friday, March 6, at the Jamestown Civic Center.
