SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Royals just got a new look. Our professional women’s soccer team will be sporting new jersey’s this season, and there’s more to them than meets the eye.
Utah Royal’s Director of Marketing, Kiki Solano, told us about all the unique details. She explained that the design is intentionally filled with symbolism.
“This jersey really is all about the details,” she said, noting that fans will immediately recognize the club’s signature lioness crest. “If you take a closer look, you’ll see that it’s being surrounded by bees.”
They’re calling this jersey ‘The Swarm,’ a tribute to Utah’s nickname, ‘The Beehive State.’
“It represents our community that comes out and supports us and our community that we want to show up for and support as well,” Solano explained.
That sense of unity was a big part of the design process. Solano emphasized that community involvement reflects the identity of the state itself.
“That’s what Utah is, right?” she said. “I think Utah is such a great example of unity, and it’s a great example of people coming together and working hard together. That’s why it’s called the Beehive State.”
She noted that the team even celebrated the launch with its front‑of‑jersey sponsor, America First Credit Union.
“We packed 1,500 meal kits to go to Bountiful Food Pantry in honor of the new jersey and building our swarm,” she said.
Players are embracing the new look and just waiting to wear it. Solano said their reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.
“It is so important to us that our players feel confident in the jersey that they are wearing, and they love this one,” she said.
She also noted that the black jersey is a first for the Utah Royals. They will debut the new look when they return to America First Field this spring. Solano said fans can expect to see it on March 22, 2026 at home after an away match on March 14. She encouraged fans to join the excitement in the stands.
“We would love to see all of you in the stands—cheering on the Utah Royals,” she said. “We want to make it an electric atmosphere.”
