Friends surprised Maylee Todd with a bug-filled party featuring cockroaches, tarantulas and even a spitting insect
Guest Ka5sh’s videos of the wild reactions went viral, racking up hundreds of thousands of views
The video even caught musician Yung Gravy’s attention
Whenever Brianna Sedor and her friends throw birthday parties, they love to bring something unexpected to surprise the guest of honor. For their friend Maylee Todd’s birthday, even on short notice, Sedor was determined not to disappoint.
After some thought, she decided to hire a bug educator — a perfect fit given Todd’s love for insects and animals. “Every party needs a little spice. Ours just happened to be bug-related,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively.
On the day of the party, the educator arrived with an impressive collection of creatures and explained what each one does. Guests were encouraged to touch, hold and even let some crawl on them — though, of course, not the poisonous ones.
“He had a LOT of cockroaches, tarantulas, millipedes… all sorts of bugs I’ve never even heard of. There was even a bug that would spit on you,” Sedor recalls.

While some people jumped right in, others, she says, were “really freaked out and hiding in the back.”
One party guest, Ka5sh, who captured the moments on camera, remembers the scene vividly.
He tells PEOPLE the group all sat in their friend’s living room while the bug educator pulled out a bunch of different bugs, educated the guests, told some jokes and even put some of the bugs in his mouth. Ka5sh himself shares how he let the tarantula touch his hands.
“Most of the room was screaming. It was so much fun — it felt like we were all 10 again,” Ka5sh adds. “A lot of people wouldn’t touch the bugs. I was insane for letting the roaches crawl on me, but I didn’t realize they would until it started happening.”
“[The instructor] tells everyone this long story about how to inject him with anti-venom if anything goes wrong,” Ka5sh adds. “Then he tells us to close our eyes, and when we open them… he has a scorpion in his mouth! And then he goes, ‘I’m joking, it’s not going to kill me.’ It was wild.”

Since then, the video has gone viral, amassing over 440,000 views and thousands of comments, even capturing the attention of musician Yung Gravy, who commented, “I know yall made his year.”
“Imagine being invited to this. Beyond jealous!!! So cool!!” another person wrote.
“Absolutely adored everyone going ‘ooooh’ and ‘ahhhh’ to his fun facts — it was so healing,” someone else chimed in.

The video also reached the bug man himself.
“He has seen it and he LOVES it,” Ka5sh says. “He really just loves bugs, and seeing people love bugs makes him happy. His name is actually legally Sean Roach.”
“I’d love to hire bug guy or a bird guy or a lizard,” Ka5sh adds.
