Monday, June 29

Grab lunch on the square

At FSQ Eats, grab a coworker get a bite to eat at Fountain Square.

Come out to the Destination Monarch Butterfly Show

Trace the epic migration of the monarch butterfly across the United States and into Mexico.

Get ready to groove at Jazz at the Square

Enjoy live jazz music from local and regional acts. Grab your favorite drink and sway to the beat of a good tune.

See awesome Lego builds at Cincinnati Museum Center

At “Jurassic World by Brickman,” venture into a baby Brachiosaurus enclosure, and see Triceratops, Velociraptors, T. rex and more. Create your own hybrid dino in the DNA lab.

Learn about the legacy of Behringer-Crawford Museum

Behringer-Crawford Museum is celebrating 75 years of art, culture and community. History buffs can come learn more about the most cherished collections on display, such as glowing minerals. Check out the “Treasures from the Attic” exhibit, exploring 250 years of fashion and furniture.

Jam out with Noah Kahan

Noah Kahan is bringing “The Great Divide Tour” to Cincinnati this week. Joining him are special guests Gigi Perez and Annabelle Dinda.

Hear great music at Cincinnati Opera’s Summer Festival

Cincinnati Opera artists take to the cabaret stage in intimate performances part of the Studio Sessions series. This week: “Matthew White in Recital.”

See ‘The Lion King’ musical at the Aronoff (last chance!)

Get ready to rock the Roebling

Rockin’ the Roebling Summer Concert Series is back and bringing the beats every Thursday night. Grab a beer from Cincinnati Lager House, relax and enjoy live music from a rotating list of performers.

Grab a lawn chair for Songs at Sunset

Enjoy live music every Thursday in May. Hear a mix of Americana, bluegrass, blues, folk and roots rock.

Salsa on the Square

Hear live salsa, merengue, cumbia and Latin jazz music from a rotating list of bands. Take part in a large dance class at Fountain Square. Or, if you’re already skilled, show off them moves!

Kick off Fourth of July celebrations

All American Birthday Bash & Operation Thank You!: 2-10 p.m., Sawyer Point & Yeatman’s Cove, 705 E Pete Rose Way, Downtown. Featuring a showcase of American cars with live music from What About Jane, the Varner Netherton Revival, The Classic Rock Experience and Six Strings Soldiers. cincinnati-oh.gov.

Cincy Blast/Newport Aquarium Blast: 5-11 p.m., Newport on the Levee & Newport Aquarium, 1 Levee Way, Newport. Enjoy a carnival-themed, family-friendly event complete with Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty stilt walkers, live music by DV8, magicians, games, drone shows and an inflatable slide. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. newportonthelevee.com.

Cincy Blast Fireworks Cruise: 8-11 p.m., BB Riverboats, 101 Riverboat Row, Newport. $95 adults, $65 ages 4-12. This cruise offers one of the best views of the fireworks display, along with a dinner buffet and a live DJ. bbriverboats.com.

Freedom Fest: 4-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, VFW Post 6770, New Richmond. Parade at 11 a.m. on July 4. Festivities include vendors, beer booths, boat races, cornhole tournaments, and live music. Cardboard Boat Race at 1 p.m. and Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks at 10 p.m. facebook.com.

Northside Parade and Rock ‘n’ Roll Carnival, 4 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday, noon-1 a.m. Saturday, 4101 Hamilton Ave., Northside. The city’s most vibrant Independence Day parade starts at noon on Saturday, followed by live music and entertainment. Free. northsiderocks.com; northsideparade.com.

Red, White & Kaboom: 7 p.m., Harbin Park, 1300 Hunter Road, Fairfield. Food trucks, live music and Rozzi Fireworks at 10 p.m. Free. fairfield-city.org.

Red, Rhythm & Boom: 4-10 p.m., Mason Municipal and Community Center Campus, 6000 Mason-Montgomery Road, Mason. Fitz & The Tantrums and Vertical Horizon will be performing. A kids’ zone with 9-hole putt-putt golf, slides, bounce houses, carnival games, a trackless train and more. Food trucks, adult beverages and live music. Cheer on your favorite Cincy baseball team

The Reds play the Orioles this week. Celebrate Veterans and Military Appreciation Day Saturday, with ceremonies honoring military groups.

Celebrate Independence Day

Many communities are going all out to bring families and friends together with patriotic parades, festivities and, of course, amazing fireworks shows. (Head to Cincinnati.com for our FULL list of Fourth of July parties and parades.)

A Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence: 9:30-10:30 a.m., Seasongood Pavilion, Eden Park, 1600 Eden Park Drive, Walnut Hills. Twenty Cincinnatians will each read a section of the Declaration of Independence. Cincinnati actor Burgess Byrd will read “What Is An American?” No Promises Vocal Band will close the ceremony with a short performance. Free. cincinnati-oh.gov.

Ault Park July 4th Celebration: 10:30 a.m.-noon children’s parade, 6-10:30 p.m. festival, Ault Park, 5090 Observatory Circle, Mount Outlook. Food trucks, kids’ activities, live music and fireworks. Parade with decorated bikes and strollers starts at 11 a.m. Free. cincinnati-oh.gov.

Fourth of July Celebration: 6-10 p.m., Washington Park, 1230 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine. Family-friendly games, food from local vendors and activities. Fireworks after sunset. Free. washingtonpark.org.

Red White & Blue Ash: 4-10:30 p.m., Summit Park, 4335 Glendale Milford Road, Blue Ash. Enjoy food trucks, restaurants, a beer garden provided by MadTree, carnival rides and family fun. Snag a great deal at Tri-State Antique Market

Shop antiques and vintage collectibles from over 125 dealers at this monthly show.
