Cincinnati’s officially shifting from spooky season to the sparkle of the holidays. With Halloween packed away and the holiday magic already moving in, find an event this week where you can get some early Christmas shopping done. Here’s a look at the biggest, best and most interesting things happening in Cincinnati over the next seven days.

Monday, Nov. 3

Celebrate among the fronds at Festival of Ferns

Step into a botanical wonderland at Krohn Conservatory. Enjoy a miniature model of Cincinnati’s skyline and find classic trains and iconic landmarks from the Cincinnati Museum Center to the Roebling Bridge. Surround yourself with ferns of all shapes and sizes, from towering ferns to maidenhairs and seasonal poinsettias.

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience takes over Cincinnati trail | Video

Step into Harry Potter’s world, grab Butterbeer, and walk through the Forbidden Forest, an immersive attraction that brings the Wizarding World to life.

Tuesday, Nov. 4

See Yo-Yo Ma and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma will join the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for an evening performance filled with emotion, elegance and artistry. Hear Yo-Yo Ma and Cristian Mӑcelaru display their musical prowess as they present Brahms’ “Tragic Overture,” Elgar’s “Cello Concerto,” and Enescu’s “Romanian Rhapsody.”

Confront one of history’s darkest periods at the Museum Center

Come see Cincinnati Museum’s newest exhibit, “Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.” Get a close look at more than 400 photos and 500 original artifacts from those who survived and died at the infamous camp. Artifacts include concrete posts, fragments of an original prisoners’ barrack, gas masks used by the officers and personal items including shoes, clothing, children’s dolls, eyeglasses and suitcases.

Wednesday, Nov. 5

Admire the ballerinas at the International Ballet Stars’ ‘Swan Lake’

Be swept away by one of ballet’s most iconic love stories. See “Swan Lake” brought to life by the International Ballet Stars with their expert choreography, gracefulness and the timeless Tchaikovsky score.

See the Xavier Musketeers take on Le Moyne

Xavier men’s basketball takes the court again this week for another home matchup. Don your blue and white, and watch the fast-paced sport at Cintas.

Take a tour of ‘Recall. Reframe. Respond. The Art of Paul Scott’

See how artist Paul Scott takes unassuming blue-and-white cultural designs on tableware to create poignant social commentary. Scott breaks, reassembles, erases and adds detail to ceramics, subverting expectations to create new “historical” patterns.

Shop ’til you drop at Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than doing some Christmas shopping? Stop by the Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market, celebrating a milestone 25th year. Browse over 230 vendors, enjoy even longer hours and more food options. And it couldn’t be a holiday market without your favorite jolly old man with a white beard in attendance! Santa will be at the show to meet and greet both children and visitors.

Jam out at the Clifton Heights Music Festival

The neighborhood-wide festival will return this year with two nights of live music across various venues, including Rohs Street Cafe, Uncle Woody’s, Mac’s Pizza Pub and U Square. Expect local bands, late-night sets and great vibes along Calhoun and West McMillan streets.

Mark names off your shopping list early at Christkindlmarkt 2025

At this traditional German holiday market, browse handcrafted ornaments, artisan gifts and festive treats from Germany and local crafters. Get into the holiday spirit by listening to seasonal tunes, sip on a cold beer or a cup of Glühwein (hot mulled wine), and shop for everyone on your list.
