From sporting events and outdoor adventures to live entertainment, here’s a look at some things to do in San Diego this Saturday and Sunday.
Aloha Day at Crown Point Beach Park
The San Diego Hanohano Club is hosting an open house event called Aloha Day at Crown Point Beach Park in Mission Bay on Saturday to introduce outrigger canoeing to the community. The event will provide all equipment and training, and the first 300 people to register will receive free swag. The club’s members will steer the canoes, while participants learn how to paddle and race.
104th Annual Coronado Flower Show
This weekend, Spreckels Park will turn into a vibrant “Welcome to the Jungle” experience for the annual Coronado Flower Show. The two-day event features stunning floral designs, competitive exhibits, live music, food, and a beer and wine garden, along with family-friendly activities. Admission is $10 per day, with free entry for children under 12.
San Diego Gulls host Fan Appreciation Night
The San Diego Gulls will take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds at 6 p.m. on Saturday for Fan Appreciation Night. The first 8,000 fans inside the arena will receive a sandless beach towel. There will also be chances to win prize throughout the night. Plus, the night marks the team’s 10-year-anniversay celebration.
Celebrate International Dark Sky Week
From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, DarkSky San Diego and partner agencies will host an afternoon of presentations and an evening of observing the night sky through telescopes and binoculars at the Santa Ysabel Nature Center. The center will have a full evening of activities and presentations for the International Dark Sky Week Celebration.
Also on Saturday, there will be a Daytime Solar Telescope and Nighttime Star Party at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in Borrego Springs. The daytime event will last from 9:30 a.m. to noon, while the nighttime event will go from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Cypress Hill concert at Gallagher Square
Hip hop group Cypress Hill is set to take the stage in San Diego on Saturday, along with special appearances from Bone Thugs and Tech N9n. The concert starts at 5:30 with doors opening 30 minutes prior. “We’re bringin’ the heat to Gallagher Square at Petco Park!,” the group wrote online ahead of the event. As of Friday, tickets were still available.
Quince & Bridal Festival – EXPO
This expo invites guests to explore dresses, accessories and event inspiration for quinceañeras, weddings, and special celebrations—all in one place. Hosted at the Chapel at Liberty Station, the free event features vendors, ideas and resources in a restored historic venue. Doors open at 1 p.m., and attendees can reserve tickets online.
Celebrate Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA
Healthy Kids Day is a nationwide YMCA event happening on Saturday, focused on promoting fun, health and active lifestyles for kids and families. For over 30 years, YMCA locations have hosted free, family-friendly celebrations with activities like games, sports, STEM projects, and arts and crafts, all aimed at encouraging healthy habits and new interests.
