Things to do this weekend Oct. 30-Nov. 2

Note: The “Halloweek at Spring House” listing has been updated to reflect changes to the event’s offerings.

It’s Halloween weekend and, in addition to the many trunk-or-treat activities for the kids in North Jersey towns, there are lots of other ways to celebrate the spookiest day of the year for revelers of all ages.

See “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Carrie” in Fort Lee, enjoy a special menu and music at the Spring House in Tenafly, or dress up and dance the night away with longtime North Jersey DJs in Clifton.

But it’s not all about Halloween. You can also experience “Disney on Ice” in Newark, have brunch with Ahmad Bradshaw in East Rutherford, see murder-mystery play “The Game’s Afoot” in Oradell, take a self-guided car ride through the Highlands, watch the Breeder’s Cup simulcast in East Rutherford and go for a morning walk in Nutley. Plus, there’s always live music, like Herbie Hancock’s jazz fusion at BergenPAC; a Michael Jackson tribute in Newton; classical baritone vocalist Benjamin Appl in Ridgewood; and rock music in West Milford, Maywood and Little Falls.

See below for the details and the weather forecast. Happy Halloween!

Weather forecast for Oct. 30-Nov. 2

According to the National Weather Service:

Oct. 30: Heavy rain and high wind, with possible afternoon thunderstorms and a high in the low 60s and a low around 50.

Oct. 31: A slight chance of morning rain will give way to partly sunny skies and a high in the mid-50s. Partly cloudy at night with a low in the mid-40s.

Nov. 1: Mostly sunny with a high in the upper 50s. Partly cloudy at night with a low in the low 40s.

Nov. 2: Mostly sunny with a high in the mid-50s. Mostly cloudy at night with a slight chance of showers and a low approaching 40.
