Looking for something to do in Coral Springs this week? We’ve got you covered.

Presidents Day closures mean limited events in town on Monday, but with a warm, sunny forecast comes opportunities to visit the city’s many parks and playgrounds and regional hiking and biking trails.

Stop by local businesses and libraries for special events the rest of the week, though, to find live entertainment and Mardi Gras menu specials at Sharkey’s Bar and Grill to Black History Month performances at the Coral Springs Museum for the Arts.

Plus, build creativity, literacy and fine motor skills with toddlers at several free events happening across the city.

Here’s what’s happening in and around Coral Springs from Monday, Feb. 16, through Thursday, Feb. 19:

Tuesday

College readiness workshop (4:30 to 5:30 p.m.)

Prospective college students can attend this free online workshop to learn everything they need to know about costs, scholarships, housing and applications for staying in-state or going out of state for college. Register for free on the Broward County Libraries website.

Fat Tuesday at Sharkey’s (5 p.m. to 1 a.m.)

Celebrate Mardi Gras at the watering hole with gumbo, po’ boys, muffalettas, bread pudding and hurricanes — plus live entertainment, complimentary masks and beads. Live music featuring Shack Daddys starts at 6 p.m. Trivia will be held at 7:30 p.m. and karaoke at 9 p.m. Costumes are encouraged! Learn more at sharkeysfl.com/events.

The Horizons Trio at The Walk (6 to 8 p.m.)

Catch two hours of live music at the shopping plaza courtyard, featuring The Horizons Trio playing retro hits for all to enjoy. Learn more and check out new restaurants to enjoy during the show on Facebook.

Master mobility plan community meeting (6 to 7:30 p.m.)

Concerned about traffic in Coral Springs? Want a more walkable or bikeable neighborhood? Join officials to discuss proposals for expanded sidewalks, shared-use paths, traffic-calming measures, and roadway improvements to create safer, more connected travel options throughout the community. The meeting will be held at City Hall in the Everglades Room. Registration is not required, but interested residents can learn more on the city’s website.

Art@Night — Black History month edition (5:30 to 7:30 p.m.)

Art lovers and social seekers can head to the Coral Springs Museum of Art for guided creative projects and live performances from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The evening will include entertainment from acclaimed performer Kizie the Violist and the Exit 36 Poetry Slam Team.
